US federal judge declares boating illegal in all US navigable waters


In a rather bizarre ruling that has marine industry officials worried, Judge Robert G. James of the United States District Court, Western Division of Louisiana, has said that it is criminal trespass for the American boating public to boat, fish, or hunt on the Mississippi River and other navigable waters in the US.  VIA IBI NEWS LINK

Important water fight is percolating on Bighorn Lake


If you've ever enjoyed fishing the Bighorn below Yellowtail Dam, or hope to sometime in the future, you should read this.

A meeting on a rather interesting topic will take place at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Lovell, Wyo., Fire Hall regarding Bighorn Lake. Its ramifications could well spill over into Montana.

If it follows the path of previous meetings, it will deal with federal promises made, promises unfulfilled, the realities of drought and perhaps an action plan that would affect the trout fishery on Montana's portion of the Bighorn River below Yellowtail Dam.
