THERE are times in this world when you want to get lost, well and truly out of your head, and find yourself vulnerable and laughing amid real, untrammeled beauty and hardship and life.
The University of Miami's Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science held the sixth annual Florida Keys bonefish census, in conjunction with the conservation group Bonefish & Tarpon Unlimited (BTU), which involved 64 professional fishing guides, scientists and graduate students split up among 19 zones, covering 1,575 square miles.
Tucked away out of sight of the eyes of the world in Marrakech this week, the EU played some of the dirtiest tricks imaginable to outflank a proposal by the United States to cut catches of bluefin to the upper limit that scientists said was justifiable, 15,000 tons.
Instead, a greedy mob of countries led by the EU pushed through a proposal to set quotas at 22,000 tons, 50 per cent higher than scientific advice. LINK (Via:The Telegraph)
