......."I have subsequently found the drawing of marlin one of the most challenging endeavours in painting. Trying to capture the power and movement of these birds of paradise in bright sunlight on a moving ocean is frustrating, fun and brings me up to the present day, 2002. I am now making a living painting a fantastic subject because I didn't give in too easily after all."
