Albacore For Sure
Last Thursday Marie and I had a great morning on Buzzard's Bay with Captain Curt Jessup.
It was an absolutely stellar Cape Cod Day and we chased pods of busting Albies while trying not to catch bluefish. We had some great Albie shots with two last second refusals but on this day the Albies would rule the fishing portion of the day while the blues ruled the catching.
Fish definitely fear Marie more than they do me.
Captain Jessup handles another pesky blue with care.
Must be the toes.
The liquid fly.
If you're ever planning a trip to Cape Cod and are looking for a world class guide be sure to look up Curt. He also guides out of North Carolina in November and on Andros in February. You can check out all the details on his website.

a day earlier we were out not too many miles south off block island and the water was foaming with albies all morning on another beauty day with dozens of shots. could only land one but with that one we learned that they were eating tiny squid not the usual eel/silverside diet that was around in abundance. Capt Chris Willi and some of his boys dialed in the stripping method the next day and had plenty in the boat after that. sounds like a similar day except for the lack of (nail) polish on our boat.

You can't ask for better conditions or a better captain. Once you add Marie into the mix you've got a special situation. Enjoy!
